Over the next two quarters, though, the idea is to also make available CBD-infused confectionery products and a hydration line that will include multi-flavoured energy drinks, CBD Global Sciences reports. With no more than 0.3 per THC, the products can be sold in all 50 states in the U.S.

The product launch is timed to coincide with Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman’s reality TV docudrama, Dog Unleashed, which will be streaming online through a subscription-based app sometime in the second quarter of 2021.

The products will also be available through New Age Beverage’s distribution channel, which services more than 5,000 stores, notes the press release.

“This product line is something that I have found to relieve my pain and stress and the fact that it is grown in a field, not made in a lab, is very important to me,” Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman says in the statement.

“Over the past year, I have seen Dog in action, and I can assure you he truly cares about his fans and wants to help people feel better with a natural solution like CBD,” adds CBD Global Sciences CEO Brad Wyatt.

CBD allows me to recover from bumps and bruises and calms the anxiety from the daily stress of catching bad guys without impairing my ability to operate or think clearly as CBD does not get you high,” Chapman said in another statement in December.

It is his hope that the products will be able to help people who are suffering from conditions such as anxiety, post-traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) and multiple other ailments that impact their lives daily. “I was introduced to cannabis during my wife’s battle with cancer and can speak to how it assisted her in pain management and other aspects of the battle that she endured,” he has said.

During an episode of Dog’s Most Wanted in 2019, Chapman relayed how his wife Beth, who died of stage four lung cancer in June of that year, made the tough decision to stop taking chemotherapy and use cannabis, instead. He explained in the episode that chemotherapy wasn’t working for his wife and cannabis was the only thing making her life manageable.

There are plenty of reports of CBD helping to ease chronic pain, anxiety and insomnia. “We need more research, but CBD may prove to be an option” for those conditions, Dr. Peter Grinspoon writes in a blog post for Harvard Medical School.
